Ethical Dilemmas

Anger Management

First one for me is the dichotomy between the peace that I seek and the rage that burns within. My anger is like the heat from 1000 suns. What are the catalysts? Racism. Classism. The fact that Evil rules over Good in too many parts of this world. Lost opportunities. Lost love. The ex, her lies and her inability to move on. Lack of affection from my mom. Lack of presence from my dad.

I can’t just wild out because there’s too much at stake. And I don’t have an external filter, I would let the emotion run its course. I wouldn’t feel remorse. I wouldn’t apologize.

Ayo, Technology

Next is my contrast between being a natural technophile and wanting to convert into a modern day Luddite.

Technology is fun. Who isn’t in awe of the rampant improvements that have happened in our lifetime? But who isn’t shocked at the environmental and other costs?

We are not good stewards of the planet or each other. Data centers sucking the planet dry. Amazon being an energy and economic vampire to its workers. The list is long.

And now I face the advent of AI. I have a natural affinity for AI and I have become quite proficient in using it. But the ethical cost of it can’t be ignored. Copyright violations, lack of regulations and again the ecological toll begs that it needs to come with pledges akin to Google’s old “Do no evil.” one.

Is that effective on just the individual level or can I lead a grassroots movement?

Personal Boundaries

You Shall Not Pass

I guess I can just list these:

• ACAB all day every day
• No physical violence against women
• No physical punishment towards my child
• No one can use the N word in my presence
• Don’t try to scam me
• Don’t try to undervalue my work
• White people aren’t the world’s police and thus can’t regulate my behaviour
• I won’t be your side piece
• I won’t be part of any games
• Don’t question my intelligence

Rules of Engagement With the World

State of Play

I’m still formulating these at my big age. I guess I’m listing these out too:

• Be prepared
• Be open to learning new things
• You’re not smart because you know it all, you’re smart because you want to know it all
• Be healthy
• Get healthier
• Travel more
• Be a participant
• Don’t be oppressed by anyone
• Have a big presence
• Leave a mark
• Make other lives better in an altruistic way
